This is something a friend of mine wrote in 2007.

“Union This Day”

A dusting of rock
From a smokey mountain
A trickle of water
From a caney creek
Traveled together
Destined for a
Glistening gulf island
And a fortressed bay

They creatively danced together
They endlessly built and bonded
Their love together
Magnificence foreshadowing their
Union of Life this Day

The journey took time
To find its resting place
Yet the dusting of rock
And the trickle of water
Never lost memory of the
of the origin
Of their first embrace

The pathway already known
To build a new regal grace
A glistening gulf island
And a fortressed bay
Still foreshadowing their
Union of Life this Day

A dusting of rock
From a smokey mountain
A trickle of water
From a caney creek
Now bonded spiritually
To a glistening gulf island
And a fortressed bay
To be seen, felt, heard
Without having to speak

For it was this perfect journey
That bound what is now
Forever two breaths of life
From one magnificent origin
To a regal new grace
And their inevitable
Union of Life This Day
